I am a proud proud Aunt!

Last Friday I took the day off and headed down to see my niece, Brittany, at school and help my sister remain sane while we got Brit ready for cheerleading tryouts.  She was a cheerleader last year and is really good!  I may be a little biased but I think she is just beautiful!

Brittany and her favorite Aunt

I didn't get to stay for the results due to the 2 hour drive back home but I did get a phone call letting me know she made the cheer team for 8th grade!

Congratulations Brittany!  We love you and are so so proud of you!

Summer is almost here...

Well since I will soon have to be in a swimsuit, shorts, skirt, tank top, halter, etc....anything that shows skin that once didn't shake and jiggle (how does that sneak up on you so fast??) I have started working out with a Coach.  Coach Will is very helpful in teaching me what to do with the weights (note in the picture below, mine are the purple ones hiding below Coach's).  One thing the Coach and I don't see eye to eye on - Push Ups!!  They are horrible!

I can tell a difference in my arms, shoulders, and how I feel just after the first week.  I also walked Gavin around the block a few times and am working on the inflatable tube that keeps going up and down around my midsection.  A few crunches here and there are definitely helping with that.

Also last week I ate pretty good and even turned down a piece of my favorite  -  Genia's pumpkin pie (even though Coach had a slice right in front of me and enjoyed every bite).  As soon as I get to my target weight I am going to ask Genia to make me one all to myself and I am going to sit there and eat every bit until I am sick! :)

Hope you are having a great week!

I'm Back!

Well I didn't really go anywhere but I have not blogged in a couple weeks.  Thank you for the sweet comments asking if I was ok :).  I just have been busy...between work, arts and crafting, spending time with family and getting ready for company, blogging just got put on the back burner.  Nothing new has happened lately.  Just the same ol' thing every day.

Finally today I got the entire house clean and ALL the laundry washed and put away.  I had just been putting off dusting...I can't stand it! This I have done twice in two weeks...I have to have a clean house when people come. :)  Last weekend my friend Leah and her husband were supposed to come up on Friday but poor Leah got the flu...Hope you are feeling better friend! This weekend my friend Kara is coming up to stay the weekend (pending this snowy nonsense that is on the tv...go away old man Winter!).  I am so excited...maybe a crafty shopping trip??  We shall see...

I hope everyone is doing well and thanks again for the sweet comments.

Crafting up a storm...and Giveaway Announcement

I mentioned in an earlier post that I was busy crafting and would share soon...

I participated in two swaps, Bunch of Scrap's St. Patrick's Swap and American Homemaker's Spring Swap.

What I sent to my partner for St. Patrick's Swap: Shamrock Canvas and Rag Garland

What I sent to my Spring Swap partner: Initial Canvas, Birdhouse, Spring sign, Seeds

One big project this week was the church nursery.  Will and I painted the nursery a pretty yellow Monday night and I brought home a giant bulletin board to paint.  Also I tried my hand at making some curtains.  I cheated and made these valances out of pillowcases :).  Hey!  It Works!

Moving along...I have made a few more items to add to my Etsy store, Simply Ash Designs.

How cute is this hairbow holder???

What have you been crafting on lately?

Another note: I dyed my hair!  eek!  It's darker and has a bronze hint to it.  I think I like it.

One more note:  I am having my FIRST GIVEAWAY this week, so check back to sign up!  I think you will just adore it!

My Watchdog...

Cracks me up...He thinks he is big stuff!

St. Patrick's Day Goodies

I participated in a St. Patrick's Day swap and my package came Saturday!!

Isn't this sign so cute??
Also I love love love this card...

Thank you Shelly!
